Protoart Studio
A local AI image studio for Apple Silicon Macs, styled like vintage studio hardware. Everything runs on your Mac: no account, no cloud, no telemetry.
What it does
- Create: SD 1.5, SDXL (Pony / Illustrious / NoobAI), ERNIE-Image and FLUX.1 Schnell, with LoRAs, embeddings, 20+ samplers, presets, wildcards and live preview
- Image to image: ControlNet (canny, depth, lineart, pose, tile…), IP-Adapter image prompts and a face detailer
- Tools: enhance & upscale, face restore, image → prompt, and Lightroom-style Adjust
- Library: search by prompt, seed, model or LoRA; reuse any picture's prompt; batch export
- Train: LoRA training, embedding training and LoRA merging
- Models: download from Hugging Face or Civitai, or use your own files and DiffusionBee models
Requirements
- Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer)
- macOS 13 Ventura or newer
- 8 GB memory works; 16 GB+ is comfortable
Install
- Open the DMG, drag the app onto Applications
- First launch: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway (test builds aren't notarised)
Models & privacy
- No model weights are bundled. Models download from their publishers on first use, and each keeps its own licence (some are non-commercial). See the notices.
- The app only goes online to download something you asked for, and Strict offline mode blocks even that. See PRIVACY.md.
